What is Fiber Internet?

Fiber Internet is a type of internet service that uses fiber-optic cables, which are made up of many smaller optical cables. These optical fibers are made from bundles of glass strands that transmit data. It is extremely thin or less than a tenth as thick as a human hair. The optical fiber is composed of two parts which are the core and the cladding. The core is the innermost part of the fiber where the light passes through and is usually made of glass. The cladding, on the other hand, is wrapped around the core and usually made of a thicker layer of plastic or glass. These two parts work together to create a phenomenon called total internal reflection.

Fiber-optic cables use pulses of light to transmit data through these glass strands at the speed of light. The use of light is the reason why fiber internet speeds, unlike copper-based internet, do not degrade over long distances. Fiber cables can carry huge amounts of data in a single line and can carry multiple signals at once. It is much faster than cable and way faster than dial-up, often reaching multiple terabits of data transfer.

Fiber internet is currently the fastest and most reliable kind of internet service available in the market. There is hi-speed upload and download speeds, which make it great for both work and home use. It is also great for TV streaming, as well as for gaming, with less lag or lower latency. That is why many people believe that fiber internet is the ideal solution to internet service needs.
